Ok, i have patched the game using the game updater ... question is which files or folders off my game installation should i cut to DVD in order to back it up?

I really dont want to go through the pain of having to update this game online if i ever have to re-prep my machine
 
Backup your whole LOTRO folder (where the game installed to), it will take 2 DVDs, my suggestion is back up the largest files, there are 2 of em, on one DVD and the rest on the other.

Also run regedit and search for the lord of the rings entry, back it up as well.

In future, for big updates (content updates) you may want to download the update as a torrent rather than use the ingame patcher. That way you get to keep the files (and can also update multiple machines from a single download).

I also make a backup of the entire LotRO directory. (Install directory as well as save directory).
