Vodacom’s BEE deal

Business Times has established that one of the consortiums is Mowana Five Mile Communications, headed by Nkenke Kekana, a former chairperson of the parliamentary portfolio committee on communications who also served as a group executive for Telkom.

Why am I not surprised that this guy has [ab]used his 11 year stint as an ANC MP - specifically his former chairmanship of the PPCC to his advantage first by jumping onto the Telkodemonopolies bandwagon, and is now a BEE tycoon, guavamental nepotism is alive and well...:rolleyes:

The nepotism gets even worse the more one reads of that article - I'm not surprised that everyone and their sidekicks appear to be gunning for a slice of Vodacom considering that Vodacom is a lucractive & successful company that is not listed on the JSE, it's just that everyone involved in bidding for a slice has in some way got guavamental ties.

In such a highly regulated, restrictive telecoms environment I wouldn't be surprised if Vodacom was told which bidders to support in order to make things a bit easier either.
 
Of course it doesn't matter that the tax payer paid for EVERYTHING they are distributing among themselves...

Black Economic Empowerment = Black Get Rich Quick Scheme

I'd like to see all those BEE tycoons tax returns... bet ya they got none..
