PC shows screensaver when screensaver = OFF

I have a PC connected to my TV in my lounge - no keyboard, mouse or any peripherals other than a wireless card. I have a PC in my study which connects to the one in my lounge wirelessly via remote desktop. The PC in my lounge doesn't do much - it's on 24/7 and store media and I only remote into it occasionally to change the odd setting.

When I initially setup both these PCs, I remoted to the lounge one and turned the screen saver off so that I could always see the screen in my lounge. The problem is that there IS a Windows XP screensaver that comes on - and I dunno how to get rid of it as appears off when right click > properties > display > screen saver > off.

How do I make NO screen saver ever come on?
 
if this fails search the system 32 folder for these files.I forgot the folders name in windows to delete all screen savers and themes.Its been a while.
just make sure via remote that you make a restore point for safety
 
Hi Dolby - is it the screensaver or the power settings? Does it show a blank screen or a screen saver.

I haven't done dabalmarks idea yet - but it's a screensaver. It's a Windows XP logo that moves on a black background.

As I say, sometimes it's nice to switch to the PC input on my TV and see the windows screen, as I can see some info in the taskbar. But for some reason this screen saver pops up :/
 
This looks like it may actually work ... I'm at work and will have to try later tonight. Will post tonight. THanks! ;) You seem like the google king ... so do you any information program that I can run to show vital stats of my PC?

I have no keyboard so everything needs to be on a single screen. At the moment I use the taskbar which shows my CPU temp and LAN connection status, but *if* there was a program it may be cooler :P

I like SysMetrix. It's free and skinnable. Provides monitoring of a LOT of measurements. Includes integration with MBM5 for more technical info. You can find skins for SysMetrix on skinbase, Wincustomize and customize ... among others.
