WiMax.. Out? R240?

1GB cap probably... thats why its so cheap...

They do not mention the amount of bandwith you get.

Likely 1Gig :-(

Hi everyone

Looks like this is just an access fee (line rental) you still have to get one of the do packages on top of that.

Hey all,

I've got Telkom's WIMAX @R240, yeah its only the rental, you still got to get your own service provider, but its still cheaper than Telkom 512 ADSL - now only R326.00 p/m ( also excluding service provider) I get a low ping and very consistent speed rain or sunshine. I also play America's Army online and get the same ping as other ADSL customers! I also get mostly 90% of the speed I pay for!!! http://www.speedtest.net/result/193312608.png

So I think WIMAx is brilliant!!

HOOAH

Isn't the catch the fact that you have to be in an area where you can't get ADSL to qualify for wi-max?

And my second question is I have heard some say you can get any ISP for wi-max, is this true? ie can I use my WebAfrica accounts for wi-max without changing a thing?

Can i buy an uncapped adsl account and use it on the wimax network?

It makes sense because the adsl username and password is basically a username and password for a radius server regardless of network medium....am I correct?

You can use any ADSL service provider for WIMAX, so yeah the Webafrica account will work fine!

At the moment that is exactly how Telkom is working, I couldn't get ADSL so they offered me Wimax!;)

Depends on how radius is set up... radius servers have more options than we have broadband choices.
