After upgrading my case's ventilation and being off on a cloudy cool day, I decided to OC my system a bit to see if I could breach the 10K mark in 3dmark06

:D:D
I could OC more since heat isn't an issue but I don't want to risk anything breaking

Any comments welcome :)

Come on! You can go higher than that. :D That CPU can go at least 200Mhz more.

Oh BTW, I'm getting 11400 on 3DM06. :p

The CPU can do WAY more actually. I'm on 1.2Vcore and when running orthos my core temps never go over 42C. I'm using the stock fan. G0 ftw :D:D

What's your specs?

Today is the best time in Jhb with the cold weather ;)

I quickly did it this morning and got 3.4 easy on the Q6600, don't know where it will go before it crashes. This is without voltage changes.

I'm still waiting for my motherboard to arrive, only going to pick it up tomorrow :(

Yeah, PCInt didn't get the stock today as hoped (because of the power outages) but apparently I can go pick it up tomorrow. :)

I think u being a bit too cautious with your setup, u can easily break the 11k mark. Yr cpu can go @ least 3.0 with stock cooling, and yr graphics can go up as well. Decent score tho ;)

I know I know...I'm just afraid that I might have a spot of bad luck and it died, then I would be quite...dead :o

I managed 10 852 3Dmarks with a xfx 8800GTS 320MB 648/945 under vista ultimate

Wow nice! I get 19.6secs
Note that my vcore is under-volted atm...it drops to 1.168V when I run orthos while on 2.6GHz OC :D
I wonder how much faster it can go without voltage increase
