The principles in Starcraft are remarkably similar. (I used to play a lot 'back in the day'). Just like parallels with sun tzu's Art of War.

Supply chain management.
Micro / Macro management
Resource management
Business Intelligence/ Espionage
Opportunity cost
Compound interest
Risk/reward
Game theory
Risk management
Best practices
etc
 
RTS players probably have a better chance than FPS players.

Haven't seen any compound interest in Starcraft. I know there is in Civilization 4 though.
 
The Medieval Total War series also had a lot of logistics to solve in addition to fighting strategy, would have helped me a lot if I became president tomorrow :D

On a side note, thread says rpm in general gaming screen but wamatt in the thread itself. Has my browser gone bonkers?
 
Eve Online is pretty much business-orientated. You run corporations, protect resources and can pretty much control space if you have the brains to.
