DSTV - New Sony CHannel - What CRAP!

how strange. one would assume that the sony channel would be quite diverse.

Maybe I am wrong, according to the web site this is the "North Indian bouquet"???????

So, are there 2 sony channels?

Either the schedule is wrong (no suprise there with these w@nkers) or the are royally shafting us yet again (also no suprise there with these w@nkers).
 
From my reading on the MC forums, it looks like DSTV already had an Indian Sony Channel, and are now introducing a new Sony Channel for English. I cant find any info though.

/me wishes me looked at my DSTV guide yesterday

That schedule is for the Indian SET channel - the English one has another line up - got my DStv mag today and checked the lineup

the SONY channel has been on the Indian Bouquet for years...

but when I pointed it out when the "New Channel Listing" was announced, some pratt from the multichoice forums told me it was a different SONY channel.

I was so excited last week when I looked at the 8 day program guide and saw Stargate SG1 in the lineup for the coming week. Unfortunately there is no program write up, so the whole week I was getting all excited about possibly seeing a new season.

Last night I checked again, and there was a program write up..............................
it is SEASON ONE.

I means FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad: :mad: :mad:

But its always been an Indian channel, same with ZeeTv. Its not free on the DSTV package, I think you pay extra for that bouquet.

Thats what I have done. I spend the DSTV money on bandwidth and have never been happier :D

Like the new movie channel is basically a repeat of the repeats on MM1, MM2 and MNet. Throw in a few from ActionX and TCM for good measure:o

What you want Sci-Fi channel for now? You have Animax.
Ok,not quite.

To get what Sci-Fi channel offered, buy the

Mystery Science Theater Series of DVDs (I think Season 4 and up)
- anyhow the ones with Mike Nelson (that's the series which was done
by SciFi). MST3K is the only thing DSTV doesn't have which made Sci-Fi
worthwhile (now that we have Animax).

Possibly buy the 1993 Pioneer (yes the TV/hifi maker) Anime collection:
Tenchi Muyo OAV 1, Moldiver, Armitage III OVA (not movie);

Buy Robotech series boxset on DVD. Battle of the Planets possibly
if you want ALL the anime shown on Sci-Fi "Animation Station".

Voila you get the entire Sci-Fi channel. ;)

Watch some Animax, you'll enjoy it if you like Sci-fi, especially Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex (midnight slot really works for it), Gundam Seed, Last Exile and Solty Rei.
Plus there's great stuff like Love Hina and Negima (both by the same guy - Ken Akamatsu) too :).

Hopefully Animax will show some sci-fi greats like Nadesico, Serial Experiments Lain, Key the Metal Idol and so on.
