I've been in the market for a laptop for a couple of years now, but I never got round to getting one until now. Last week I decided to break the bank and get myself the Acer Aspire 5920G from Incredible Corruption. With their "trade-in" promotion it was simply too good an opportunity to miss.

The laptop definitely rocks! I haven't had too much time to mess around with it, (still busy installing software and getting used to Vista). The sound quality is very good (as far as I can gather) the screen is nice and bright and despite reflecting ambient light you don't really notice it.

Out of the box it gets a Vista Experience rating of 4.7 (the lowest score due to the HDD), which seems very good. I've never used Vista before so I don't really have a reference as opposed to scores for desktop PC's.

I've yet to try gaming on the laptop, but hopefully it will be able to manage some gaming. I'll just have to wait and see...

Great to hear..

You laptop will definitely play games. You should even be able to play crysis at low to medium settings.

Yup. That's the exact specs of the one I got (5920G-302G16N).

With the trade-in offer I paid R11999.99. Definitely not a bad price for the specs... as far as I can tell.

what did u trade in for it?

I traded in a EXTEMELY old Pentium 200MMX machine I had lying around. Though they didn't have any problems accepting it.

I thought the 5920 has Blueray
I think it would depend on the specific model/area. The one I got has the normal Super-Multi DVD drive.
I know another model comes with a HD-DVD drive, and if I'm not mistaken the latest one comes with Blu-ray. Obviously both of these would cost considerably more.

Does your model has finger print scanner?
No, it doesn't - but that definitely wasn't a concern for me.
