Why won't The Orange Box work with my laptop???!?

I have an HP laptop with Windows Vista with an integrated video card (Intel 945GM). I've been trying to play the game but after I launch, let's say Team Fortress 2, and try to join a server, I get the Windows box informing me that hl2.exe has stopped working. I've downloaded the latest drivers and updates and what not. It still isn't working. It's probably my graphics card. But, I want to play! Is there any way around this problem???

Trying running the game in xp sp 2 compat mode and as administrator.

Yep, I think your graphics chipset is a bit too underpowered for Half-Life 2.

I'm playing it on my desktop pc, Geforce 6600 P4 3.0Ghz with 1GB RAM, plays smooth.

1024 X 768
High Dynamic Range enabled
Anti-aliasing X2
+ everything on high

I'm enjoying myself SO much. First playing HL2 again, then Episode 1 & 2. Fantastic.

Is there any way to upgrade the gfx card? I really wanna try to get by with just my gfx card. But if I can't, what should I do?

I'm afraid that's one of the drawbacks of a laptop - the graphics chip is integrated into the motherboard.

You'll have to buy another laptop.

Try and run dxdiag in the the start run window on do the 2 tests there under the display tab....do they both work?

Intergrated graphics seems to be the problem
