Any one else played CoD 4? Got it on the weekend and finished it in 1 sitting, prob around 7 hours, maybe less. I did it on medium difficulty so prob could have lengthened it a bit by playing hard. The game is great but it is sold as a full game and not an episode (I assume, could be, but it damn well was not priced as one)

These days it seems like they make the single player shorter with the idea that everyone will play the online multiplayer part aswell. I see they reckon it is a 5 hour game for people who can play these games. lol, i'm still stuck :D , but i am a beginner really

5 hours game play usually equates to 5 days my time :)

Online is the new single player!
Too bad in S.A narrowband is soo expensive not all of us can enjoy online play!

This has also been dealt with in the COD4 thread.

The game is way too short ... and a rip-off when looking at it from that angle only.

But the game is deep - not shallow ... it's about quality not quantity.

I'm playing it a second time now at the harder than normal level and I enjoy it all over again. I'm actually surprised at how one can do things differently the second time.

I recommend that the game is played at the second highest level first time ... and not the recommended regular/normal level.

I don't like multiplayer as there are just too many a$$holes and griefers online , also don't have time for a clan.

SP was too short and I will think twice before buying another title from them.

well no offense but if u guys had read a review of the game before buying it you would have known that the SP is really short. maybe u pre-ordered it but personally i wouldnt buy a game before knowing what i'm getting. u can't call it a rip-off becos clearly it is aimed primarily as a MP game.

Yeh i finished it in one sitting the same night i got it. Took me about 7hrs on medium difficulty. But man, that was the best 7hrs of first person shooting i've ever encountered. It was superbly well done.

As i've said before in the COD4 thread: The multiplayer side of it is also hectic. Much much much faster pace than BF2, and will appeal to the guys who are used to counter strike and UT2k4. Unfortunately the SGS servers are 24 player only. I see they've introduced 2 extra servers, but on Saturday when I tried playing both of their servers were packed.

The engine they used is one of the smoothest running i've ever seen. And it performs excellent on relatively low spec machines like mine (3000+ amd, 1gb ddr400, 8600GT)

Im really looking forward to the expansion pack and I hope they bring it out soon!

thats the only thing putting me off this excellent and deep game

the fact that its only deep and excellent for a short time

i dont have adsl so cant enjoy the multiplayer aspect

gona wait for it to drop in price and for expansions to come out

(played it last night at a buddies place, it just sucks you in)

I suggest trying to play the game on a harder difficulty... if u finished it in 5 hours or whatever, u prob played on RECRUIT, try play on HARDENED or something more, if you have the balls!!

Try collecting all the intel items etc... they unlock things and playing the game on a harder level, this time around the game will be bliksem hard! 7 hours se gat!
Even I'm struggling!

Stop bitching about the game, it was amazing, completely and utterlly brillant!
Then playing MP, MP is great fun! i loved the SP & MP!

yeh, trying to get all the intel is friggen impossible. I dont like playing games on beginner level, i played it on regular in 7hrs but try it on veteran and it WILL be a whole different game all together. I can just imagine the Chenobyl getaway being damn near impossible.

does anyone actually know what happens if you get all the intel? I only got about 15 of them - i was too busy trying not to get my spleen shot off to get the rest.

On regular level it takes no more than 7 hours to complete. I'm doing the second highest level now and missions take a bit longer (not substantially longer) ... so I definitely recommend doing this level first for most players familiar with this genre. The highest level sounds impossible.

Collecting the intel doesn't work well in the game flow and I cannot see many being bothered by it ... unless someone can tell me of great unlocks to be gained I cannot see myself slowing the game flow down to search for hidden stuff.

If you get all the intel laptops, you unlock things like SLOW MOTION mode and other stuff, I had a web site where you knew all the stuff you unlocked but I can't remember the url, goto gamespot.com/pc - search for call of duty 4 and find it there.... suffice to say, i've started playing it again on hardened and i'm struggling :(

Well I compare this game to games like BF2.

BF2 did not really have SP just you against bots with no story. I bought BF2 purely for MP and I got every cent I spend back IMO.

I also bought COD4 and after reading reviews on several sites stating that the SP is short ,but really well made still decided to buy it for MP and it rawks.

So unlike BF2 you actually get a SP experience that is worth it.
