hey has anybody noticed how iburst is f****** moving today
when i download files through my favorite http tunnel application, i get maximum 300KBS,normally hovers around 250kbs, today for the first time its going 1000KBS!
h00000ray!!!! :D :D :D

am i the only lucky guy to experience this ???

You say "300KBS", "250kbs" and "1000KBS". So which is it, KiB/s or Kib/s ??

It's pretty hard to figure this one out. :p He means kbps.

I'm capped so I havent noticed much but downloads would usually come down around 1000kbps. Weekends make a big difference.

Same here, downloads can normally hit around 120KB/s for me, time of day makes a big difference with downloading

Thought that iBurst could reach 5 Mbit/s.

From Wikipedia on iBurst: "Apparently there will be future firmware upgrade possibilities to increase these speeds up to 5 Mbit/s, consistent with HC-SDMA protocol"

Anyway downloading a 171MB Clannad avi file at 46.6 KB/s.

Yep.. future, and that includes future modems.. most likely. Everyone knows that our iBurst is 1mbps.

I have a theory on "flying iburst"... Surf when a close area is in the pathetic "load shedding" and nobody can USE iburst thanks to no power...

Or, be a geek and surf when the power just comes back on... THEN it'll be flying ;-)

@EHV, I assume your speeds have improved somewhat since that new tower went online.

BTW: I see you're also burning the late night oil.:D

Ja, they have, back to what it used to be when I was first on Plumstead 2 years ago.

And my oil burnt out after that post.. apparently. :p
