Hi people

Has anybody here got a Nokia 6120 Classic or know of someone who does? I'd like to hear your opinion of the phone.

The only things I read in this review that put me off is the quality of the camera and the supposedly short battery life of the phone. :(

Thanks.

I have one. I'm very impressed with the phone, although I haven't used the camera that much.

Dunno where they get the short battery life from. It lasts at least twice as long as my 6680. I get 150 hours standby with between 20 to 30 minutes talktime during that cycle (I switch the phone off at night, so I charge it every 10 days). But I must point out that I have the phone on GSM-only mode, and Bluetooth is always off.

The phone has a very fast processor, e.g. opening the browser, or pressing the menu button takes 1 second.

The small size is a big plus, I often find myself feeling my pockets just to double check if my phone is actually still there, but if you're going to send 100's of sms, you may find the keys just a bit small or close together.

Went to look at the phone at a Vodashop yesterday. The 6120c and the 6110 navigator are the only Nokia phones atm (some more coming soon) that have the Symbian 9.2 update outside the N series. The most important improvement is that the alarm clock has been finally updated to handle multiple alarms that will function while the phone is off. So it basically has the same interface as the N95. The nav key is somewhat irritating in that you have to try to hit the ring on the outside to navigate, it is really narrow. As ajax said, keyboard also very small compared to my 6670 but then I suppose you have to sacrifice something for the small form factor. The function keys on the side are also difficult to press since the cover's edge is slightly raised and you keep on hitting that instead of the keys. The back of the phone has a chrome finish and it showed fingerprints at first (sweaty ;-) touch. Shouldn't matter much if you use a leather cover with belt-clip though. There is also no lens cover on the back.

Other than that I have read a lot of positive reviews, and like ajax mentioned, I also read that it has a very good battery life. Then, on the other hand, I think I'll just wait patiently for 6110 nav stock to come in ..... ;-)

The multiple alarms takes some getting used to. A few times now I've set the alarm, but then figure, nah, stuff it, I would like to sleep in tomorrow, "reset" it to an hour later and go to sleep. But now the phone does not delete the previous alarm (I have in fact set an additional alarm), so I've been woken up a few times already by the "original" alarm ;)

I would have liked a cover for the camera yes, and the CSI team would not have any problems taking fingerprints off the back cover. I've been struggling to get a pouch for the phone. I want a body glove pouch. All the shops just say the phone is "too new" and the suppliers haven't made pouches yet :confused:

What accessories do you get with the phone? I went down to my local MTN shop who are still waiting for stock of the Nokia 6120 Classic and they said you get nothing extra with the phone! Just the phone and I assume the charger, no USB cables, software etc. Is this true?

* Nokia 6120 classic
* Transceiver
* Nokia Travel Charger AC-4
* Nokia Battery BL-5B (890mAh)
* Short User Guide (full User Guide online + CS help)
* Nokia Stereo Headset HS-47
* CD-Rom
* Data cable DKE-2

Cool, thanks. I'll go ask at another MTN shop then.

They told me at the Vodashop the pouches are coming in next Wednesday, might be a standard response though, always "next Wednesday"! Re the alarm, I'm so used to setting the silly alarm every night, have to do a bit of adjusting on that issue for sure ...

I think they were lying :D Unless they thought you were referring to free goodies or things like bluetooth headset etc.

I'm quite sure you'll get the USB cable, earphones, software etc.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.

:)

I cant make up my mind on the 6120c or n73,I know n73 does not have hsdpa but then again i'm not going to use it much.Really really stuck here.what would You guys say?

It appears MTN are as clueless as always. I've called 3 different MTN shops, none of which have stock of the 6120 Classic, nor do they know when they will be getting it.

Yet, Cellucity has stock.

:(

Have a look at the E65. I'm more than impressed! The WLAN (wifi 802.11) should be fun when I go for a drive :)

The European Nokia site doesn't list the memory card as an included accessory.
