Even though Mac OSX releases are called after cats, despite
what the Windows users say, I still don't feel like a p__sy for
using Tiger and now Leopard. :)

Clean install, I did my Apple Certified Technician training last week in Joburg and thats the recommendation.

Yep, I caught your thread, so we can't argue with u on the mac forum now. :)

Is it as much work as the A+?

I'm in the process of convincing myself to buy Leopard, spent money on ram this month.

Take the plunge - I've only had one problem so far (screencapture doesnt work for my user account anymore)

I have to reinstall XP again, it's gotten wonky, but it did last 5 months.
Tiger is still fine.

Boot Camp seems to have not been disabled yet, so no reason to upgrade yet.

What's XP got to do with it? My XP partition was, afaik, untouched.

A compelling reason for me to buy Leopard would be if Boot Camp stopped working.
My reason for compulsion was that Leopard is better :D

From what I can tell bootcamp should always work in tiger - it is only the assistant that might deactivate so unless you're resizing partitions or maybe need newer drivers you wont have any probs.

That reminds me - I need to use bootcamp to set up a scratch disk partition for photoshop. I'm assuming I can remove the partition at a later stage using bootcamp . . . .

I just thought WTF, i'll get it.
And do XP and Leopard on the same day.

Is that Apple Shop at CT's Waterfront number still 021 425 1941?
They aren't answering their phone.

See it's R979 at ZA Store, but rather just take a drive if it's the same price.

I wonder if people who have windows need mac partitions as much as people who have mac need windows partitions :D since i have kubuntu, i do need windows for my gaming :D

no.. I dont think so, I cant imagine why they would. There are free versions of cut down OS`s if they wish to explore something different. :D *puts on flame retardant clothing and runs*

Number is correct, they're out of stock.
Costs R999 there.

So then you must think people are flocking to Apple just for the superior hardware.

Just of of curiosity . . . is typing a 's overly complicated in kubuntu?

Nope, I do it for fun. It keep`s anal people on their toes ;) I cant argue about the hardware, its sexy, though superior... well thats extremely debatable.
