How do you get your money for upgrades?

How do you get your money?

1) I work for my dad, as a delivery guy (i deliver his 407 truck engines to mechanics).
2) I work for my mom, as a errand boy (grocery shopping common tasks, etc etc).
3) I sell pc parts every now and then to friends and family and other clients.

this is my only means of getting cash (And i get paid minimum salary like any other employee, and if i work hard enough for long enough, my dad will raise my pay)

I will be doing this until next year August, then i will study in America

My parents don't buy me my pc components, i have to do that myself, although they will help me with a loan every now and then...

How do you manage to get your upgrade?? (And what is your reason for upgrading?)
 
If possible could somebody change the title to "How do you get your money for upgrades?"
 
I sell my old hardware to idiots who will pay too much for it. Thus I can sell my old stuff and buy new stuff for an additional R150.
 
Work/temp for a company with a better salary, could buy u a top of the range PC.

I work as the "IT department" at my dad's office.
 
I did freelance web development for "pc money" when I was a youngin...

They do.....
If you're in Bloem you get a tank of petrol for donating blood at FARMOVS.
And recently they had a study about the effects of a light sleeping pill on semen production, I did it... paid R18500 and all I had to do was "help myself" 2 times a week.

Other than that I'm a student (Actuarial Science Masters)
 
18.5k mmmm , I cant help but wonder what "experimental medication" they had you on, how it could damage things like liver etc. Was it an approved pill they had you take or some experimental ****.

I'm confused I thought you only write those actuarial test's (the ones from GB) and then you're a actuary? Or do you do the masters to get exemption from more tests?

Or do you have to do Financial Mathematics -> Honours -> Masters -> Actuarial Tests? I know the only prerequisite for the Actuary tests are either a degree in Mathematics or Computer Science, but that's if they accept you....

Anyway guess you'll be raking in the cash soon enough :p

I also work for a retail / IT company @ my bosses company.

@ 18 yoa you can get a holiday job and still help your pops out for extra and help you mom of free, shame man u charge your mom for doing stuff for her, have a heart ID10T. (excuse the pun):D
 
I was approx 23 when i first could afford my own pc... My hobbies pay for my other hobby expenses, ie PC

Lots of blood to spare... could always use petrol...

But the point I'm getting at is that by some way or the other do you get cash to get a new Motherboard RAM and CPU and Graphics Card, within 2 years another Motherboard RAM CPU and Graphics card, and within 6 months or so still upgrade either a Motherboard CPU RAM or Graphics card? (whilst being 18)

I got myself a brand new Motherboard RAM CPU Graphics card and case and monitor harddrives and cd-roms, for about 20 or 22K by saving up for 3years, and my parents loaning me money which i slaved away to pay back for for a year.

I usually upgrade by saving the money I earn :) I usually don't spend more then R8,000 on an upgrade, though...
