I recently ported my number from VC to MTN. Since then I have had problems with people (calling from VC and CellC numbers) complaining that when they phone my number, they get "number does not exist" messages, which is pretty inconvenient.
I have also tried calling my number from a Telkom landline and I get the same thing. Oddly enough, it works in the MTN shop.
Now I've noticed that my Internet banking SMS verifications don't work. This effectively means I cannot add beneficiaries etc for EFTs, which is a major problem.
Can any MTN reps advise me on how I can get this fixed?

I assume you are with FNB?
In the meantime, you can change your settings so that your OTP is sent to your email rather than your cellphone.

No, I'm with ABSA, mechanism is similar to FNB though. I can't change the settings online though because it uses SMS verification for notification changes so I am off to the bank to try and change it to email. Note to MTN reps: This doesn't get you off the hook ;).
