Check it out guys ... Above mentioned available for the N95 ... Keep in mind I set my product code to the UK version, not using the stock standard code for Vodafone!

Changes in the new firmware

* New Welcome application

* New camera software and tweaks from the 8GB model - FAR faster shot to shot time, with 'Processing image message' during any delays

* Long press on camera button launches camera if shutter is open

* New My Nokia SMS tips and mobile web portal system

* Demand paging (for ROM applications) with 30 plus MB free RAM after booting.

* Search 4.0 integration on standby screen.

* Old multimedia menu still there, i.e. it's not the new style

* N-Gage game previews (FIFA, Asphalt) and portal/shortcut to upcoming N-Gage client, as in N81 and N95 8GB

* Nokia Music Store client, although the store server hasn't been updated to handle the N95 yet - maybe this'll happen later today

* Keypress bug gone(!), I think

How do I upgrade, just with the software updater?

Yes, but I just had a look and the new firmware is not available for the Vodafone branded Vodacom phones here in SA ... is your phone branded or unbranded tera?

It's my bro's phone uncle Landy, I'm too poor :p

It's unbranded I believe, it doesn't show anything about Vodafone on it ;)

Then it might just work out the box. Go here, then check the product code behind the battery and type it into the field on the above page ... it should give you either v12.0.xxx or v20.0.xxx, depending if the new one is available for your specific product code

Ive loaded this 2 hours ago with the EURO1 product code. Pretty kewl.

When will this update be avaliable for everyone, I dont really want to mess arround with my phone just yet?

We will most probably not see it as an official SA release for at least 2 months (if lucky) ... It was only released today for Europe, and still has to go through extensive network testing for the SA networks.

OK so if I use NSS and get the new software version to work, I take it I will be throwing away my warranty?

Well, not really ... I've read some reports that when guys had problems with new "non-official" firmware, they reset the product code to the original and it works better (thats if you had problems with the new firmware). I reckon it is best practise to set it back in any case, if you do need to take it in for repairs to Nokia

Ok cool but what happens if somthing goes wrong when im updating, then surely they won't honour the warranty? So what do I do .... Open NSS, click phone info then fill in the product code and click the enable box next to it then click write ..... Is this correct or am I missing a step/completly wrong? Then afterwards just use nokia updater like normal?

Brian, I think you are correct ... Just do a google for N95 product code change to make sure ... I found a site a while back that gave a step by step, but the links are on my other notebook
