Should I buy : Chaintech geforce 8800GT or another card ?

Hi

I was looking around for a 8800gt and seems many are sold out :(.

I have found this one at take2 but its the only one left, is there a problem with it which I have not seen?

I only want to spend about R3000 so this fits nicely or is their another options which i might have overlooked ?

Dude, buy the cheapest one you can find!! R3k is R500 too much!
 
There is nothing wrong wiff that card.

Troll systemshock.co.za/forums (dealer section). You might find another one available in there or just PM one of dealers, they'll be glad to help.
 
Indeed nothing wrong.

However, a little wait for stock that saves what I determine to be a considerable amount of money, is usually more important to me than instant gratification.

If you want to get a card soon, R3000 is what you going to have to spend. Nothing wrong with Chaintech, I would get it if I was you. :)
 
Yip, ECS also make some brill. motherboards.

Well if I was him I would wait, and spend the money saved on something kewl, not just throw it away.

Bt yes you are right, the cost of impatience is roughly R500 in this particular situation! :P :)
 
He only said he wants to spend around R3000, this Chaintech is R2680. Not a bad price at all seeing as it's in stock.
 
Grab it, it is unlikely you will be able to get a 8800GT before next year. The backorders are HUGE.
 
Picked up an Asus 8800GT for R2,999 today.. It is about R500 over priced but as you guys said the backoders are huge!!

Axiz is getting some 8800GT's next week but I'm sure all is spoken for already.

Hope the extra R500 was worth it...
 
Woohoo, managed to get the last Chaintech 8800GT from Take 2 this morning. Supplier out of stock now :D
 
:( I still need to get one of these cards, and I'm not paying more than R2500.

I just hope there's some R2300 cards left. :D

cause i am want to get a chainteck 8800GT also , but i want to be sure to get this brand
cause its the firist time for me to get a chainteck GPU

Placed the order this morning, should only be getting this card tomorrow. I'm using a Chaintech 7600GT at the moment... for almost 2 years. Haven't had a single problem with it. Also used a Chaintech Zenith m/board a few years ago and that never gave any problems either.

Most of the 8800GT's using the same specs. Cooling, bundles, and whether or not the board is OC'd or not are the main differences. With regards to that, the only locally available ones which differ from the norm (that i'm aware of anyway) are from Inno3D and XFX Extreme Ed and XXX Ed. These boards are OC'd.

The Point of View, ASUS, Chaintech, ECS, standard XFX, Gigabyte, Gainward, and Sparkle versions all use the same clock speeds/cooling afaik.

also let me know when you get the chaintech 8800GT , if there are any differences between its performance and the other 8800GT performance reviews around the net
