A heads up - pc repairs in Cape Town

A client of mine had a Sony Vaio laptop with a broken backlight in the lcd monitor - just out of warranty.

Apparently Sony do not repair, just replace the complete screen - for R5500 !

I found a 2 man show in Centurion park who replaced the backlight for R 995 within 2 days.
If anyone wants more info just ask.

They also repair printers, power supplies, monitors etc etc.
 
Ja - tell me more. My computer's fan is making a noise I cannot get rid of, and my sound card is weird. I've written about the sound card before and tried everything but no luck.

How daft can you go? Cheaper to replace the backlight, or just buy a new laptop. Or, use an external monitor :D

Sony being Sony, are you sure they don't install r00tkits on these new screens of theirs? :p :p :D :D
 
Help with an lcd for hp laptop

Can you please send me the details for this guy who fixes the lcd's. I have an HP Pavillion whitch displays half way on the screen.

I really need to fix the problem as soon as possible.

This sounds like the company I dealt with last year to fix my server's dead UPS. Trading as UPS Cape, but the real name was AC Digital Energy. They did a good job with the thing and had quick turn around times.

If this is the same company, then it's great to know :)
 
A backlight normally cost around R80-R100 and takes less than 15 minutes to replace. I don't think you got the good deal you think you did! My company would have charged you R450 for the job. :)
