Best Budget printer..

Client needs quite a few budget inkjet printers. Whats the best to go for at the moment? Dont feel like having to sit with $hit with returns. Brandwise? Canon Ok? I have heard to stay away from lexmark although i have never had a problem with one.
 
No they dont, they werent so keen on laser though. Printers will only be used once a week or so.
 
ya, cheap & reliable. Looking at the Canon IP1800 R257ex not bad.
 
In the world of printers, there is no "cheap" AND "reliable". It's one or the other, although even most of the expensive printers are unreliable.

I hate printers in general, can you tell?
 
Same here, i'd rather go for something a bit better then, any suggestions?
 
Canon's are brilliant I only supply Canon for Inkjet, multifunction laser and HP if they looking at high volume laser printing. Haven't had a return on Canon in 2 years ever.
 
brawler they would be totally stupid to go with inkjet for black and white printing

laster printed use alot less inks, print quality is much better

buying really cheap inkjets is waste of time man

honestly if they printing black and white get laser
 
what about toner costs killa? can get inkjet refilled for like R80 works perfectly were as refurbished toner is like what? R350?
 
The HP colour lazer 2500 is a very good buy @ R 2000, vety good printouts. It has a built in nic for easy network connection so you can let all of them print to one printer. The operational costs for a colour lazer is much less than a inkjet printer.

if you must go for inkjet, then yeah, go for it, got one a few months ago at R199 incl VAT from incredible corruptions on a special.

Except for the fact that it doesn't have single ink tanks, the specs are better than the canon inkjet i bought a few years ago for over a grand.

I would say a network connection would be extremely useful. Be aware that some are just 'network ready', whilst others have wireless networking built-in.

Find out how much toner or ink is actually in the cartridge when you buy it. Canon fills theirs up, while HP and others only give you 1/2 one.

If you go for ink, make sure it has a separate black ink cartridge. The latest inks are long lasting and don't fade.

The laser HP 1022 (n/w) is now redundant, but it is still a good printer at 1200*1200 dpi. It's hard to find one with high res printing. The shops will promote 1200 dpi, but they are trying to trick you by leaving out the other figure or even adding 600*600 to get 1200!!
 
nope just need small inkjet printers, the office has a main All-in-One networked colour laser. Some people jst asked for their own personal printer & some PC's arent connected to the network. Going to go for the Canon's, thnx for input :)
