Vista brings OS piracy down

Those figures just prove that Vista is so bad people don't even want it for free.

Bingo.

XP:
Easy to crack validation? :D
Easy to get your hands on a copy? :D
Is the original copy Expensive? :(
Is it better than the previous OS? :D
Overall "want to Pirate" rating? :D

Vista

If this makes any sense to anyone…

IMO Microsoft has not learnt that people don't want to have to pay for an Operating System - especially not at the price Microsoft charges, people are more likely to pay reasonable prices for Microsoft's other products [e.g. Microsoft Office etc] if e.g. Vista was free - the OS is simply an enabling piece of software that allows other pieces of software to run, why should consumers have to pay inflated prices for both the OS and other software on top of that.

The reason Microsoft dont close down the holes in their security is it that its in their best interest that you use a pirated copy of Vista rather than a competing operating system.

The article's title should be "Vista brings desire for OS piracy down."

Or even better "Vista brings OS piracy down because everyone is moving to Linux"

Wouldn't that be nice... pity PCs don't retail with Linux as an option... at least not that the public are aware of...
