Best value laptop for around R7000

I am looking for a laptop pretty close to the R7000 price range and I was wondering what you would suggest?
 
A second hand macbook? :D

okay.. for those of us who say want something quick, new and local? :) This is not for me, but a family member.
 
Look for a HP 530 with the Core Duo 1.6ghz processor

should be able to get it for R6000. Then you can get some nice accessories.

it's lightweight and the screen is excellent
 
Any hardware vendors want to PM me quotes? Will have a look at all quotes above board and not from Nigeria.
 
I got an HP Pavillion dv6000something a couple of months ago:

AMD Sempron 3500+
1 GB RAM
80 GB HDD
Nvidia GeForce Go6150
[-]Vista Home Basic[/-] Kubuntu

R6000.

I've been happy with it - i'll get some more ram when the budget allows (ie probably around 2010) but otherwise its been pretty good.
 
 
Would rather not use BoB.. its a little too Nigerian for me. What do you think of this laptop?

You should be able to get anything up to the range of the HP NX7300...

Ag shame, if you worked where I do you would be able to get a laptop thats usually R12000 for R7000. We ordering them in bulk for some strange reason, I think the people in IT will be getting them so they can play Call of Duty 4 :(

Don't I know that routine ... getting a R24k notebook for R15k :D
 
Look at an HP 6720. Better than HP 530 for a very good price below R7000.

This is obviously at around cost price? Whats the point of you posting this if it';s at cost?
