Hi,

About 18 months ago I bought a Linksys router with wireless N (Linksys WAG300N http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-050-LS). I did, however, use a wireless G card in my PC and it worked alright (upstairs to downstairs).

I'm now moving and once again, it'll be upstairs to downstairs. However the place is alot larger and the placement makes me think I may have trouble with the signal.

I see I can buy a Linksys wireless n PCI card for R815.00 (http://www.pcmall.co.za/moreinfo.asp?sku=WMP300N) or even a range extender at similar price (http://www.pcmall.co.za/moreinfo.asp?sku=WRE54G).

Which would be the better option? Does a range booster need a PC or just a plug? How exactly does it work?

The range extender is G standard. I'll go for the N standard PCI card
