1 : Leave the firewall on, and run the network configuration wizard, search for it in the help, that will configure the firewall to allow file and printer sharing. Afterwards you can turn it off, but it will work when on as well.
2 : Reset the IP Address cos the wizard will bugger that up, and while you're doing this, make sure that in TCPIP that enable netbios over TCP is checked.
3 : On the C: drive of machine a, share c:\ for Everyone, and then edit the actual file access permissions, and allow everyone access to c:\ (AND click on advanced and choose replace permissions on all subfolders).

Here at work we have 4 PC's connected via switch. Lets call them A, B, C and D. They all belong to the same Workgroup. IP adresses are manually given. All PC are on the same subnet mask. The problem is that the one PC, (A) can access all the other PC's without any problem, but not one of B,C and D can acces A. B, C and D can access each other without any problem. The root (C:\) directory of each are shared. This whole setup worked well untill we had to replace the HDD of PC no. A. All the PC' have Windows XP Pro (SP2) on. When we try to access PC-A, we get the folllowing error message: "\\xxxxxxxx is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions." All read/write permissions are given to All in the sharing options. All possible permisions that I could think of was given, with no luck watsoever. Is ther anything that I might have missed? any help will be appreciated.
