Hey

Could anyone explain to me how an International warranty works?
A friend of mine Imported his pc and wants to sell it to me, very good pc, but I don't wanna buy it unless I know how an International import work?

He says it's an official import and all the components carry warranties with their manufacturers (Foxconn 8800GTX, XFX 680i, 4GB Crucial Ballistix , 72GB Raptor HDD, nice case (Antec 900), nice PSU 800watt 500GB Seagate SATA2, QX6750) - He's selling for R10 000...

Should I take it?

What if something breaks?

Start by checking on the manufacturers website they would explain how their warranty works. You would have to work through the local agents of the products if something went wrong so it would be up to them to honour the warranty.

First, find out who will honour the warranty in SA. Several distributors here are very good about it others are bloody awful. PM me if you want names :)

For R10 000 you can get a similarly matched PC locally. All those components are available locally... If you're in the Cape Town area, PM me and we can put something together.

Serious?

You're soon gonna be getting lots of PM's :)
I think you probably mean Q6600 in place of QX6750, 8800GTX->8800GT, 4GB crap Ram..?
