Hi,

We're renting a cluster with a lounge upstairs and downstairs. The problem is that the owner installed the DSTV point in the upstairs lounge, with piped through to the downstairs lounge with RF.

I prefer my TV and setup being downstairs, so I guess I can either get them to install a second point downstairs or place the decoder alone upstairs.

If I choose the second option, is there another way to change channels apart from a Remote Blaster?

Get a TV Link. it sends the IR signal on the coax. Try Zakspeed if in CT.

Thanks.

Someone mentioned that PVR and/or Dual View may have this function built in ... do any of the decoders?

not that I am aware of.

AFAIK TV link is standard on Dual View and PVR? My PVR has it and a friend's dual view has it. (TV Link being the remote extender that runs through the coax cable)

Just check that any splitter and boosters (if any) after your decoder's output has a DC pass through, otherwise it won't work.
