Siemens Gigaset SE568 router/modem

Hi there,

I am using rather slow internet at the mo so forgive if anything has been posted before.

If anyone has had any experience connecting a Siemens Gigaset SE568 router and succesfully browsing the web please share how you managed to do so.

Been struggling for hours to get this darn router working never in my life has it been this difficult.

I go through the connection wizard, apply ISP username and password as prompted and click next etc.... then the "surf now" just does not work. Furthermore bridged mode has no joy either. Just absolutely nothing works on this router except the LAN.

pppoe connection also always stays red even though the correct details are entered...DSL light is on and synched and the line definately works. We just had to replace the router. Unfortunately we came across this fancy schmancy piece of **** router. lol 'scuse the anger

Make sure your Multiplexing Method is set to LLC -BASED

EDIT..That option should be under ADSL settings of some sort

Lol no i dont know what i am doing, thats why we got the easy to setup one
Preferred our old microcom router though, it worked perfectly before blowing thanks guys will look further with your suggestions.

Howzit guys ADSL feels much better. Your suggestions helped and also managed to get it in bridged mode so we can dial using our own ISP's.

Thanks for those suggestions. Just for the record wth is VPI and VCI and why were these not specified anywhere else?? By default they were on 0 and 32.

I cant believe we spent hours just for that lol. My boet says at least now he doesn't have to beat up some fsker at Siemens

Woohoo, not sure what they are but I think they determine different ADSL networks.

IE, like in the UK when you have lots of options of different service providers over the same copper.
