IBM Lenovo?

Anyone using an IBM Lenovo? How does it perform alongside the other brands? I'm thinking about getting one of their 1.73 GHz Celerons. The one I was checking out in a recent ad includes a web cam, finger print reader, SD card reader, Wifi and bluetooth.

Comes with Vista Home Basic.

I have the Lenovo T60 and is very happy with it.
If you don't like the pre-loaded software you can always uninstall them.
 
mmm Celeron M + Vista is sorta like trying to pull a oil tanker with an Uno.

Stay away from Vista in that price range, the Laptops simply don't have the performance to run Vista.

minimum specs for Vista would be something like this one:

It has double the memory, double the processing power and half the junkware of the IBM. And it's only R700 bucks more.

Too late - I got the Lenovo already :). Haven't had time to explore all the software yet to see what junk is already installed. The one's with the built in web cams were already sold out so I had to get one without it.

I'll look into the RAM issue a few months down the line.
 
Got a Lenovo R52, still running strong 2yrs later ( one re-install only cos i f***ed up the registery when cleaning ). Had to add another 512 to it, set me back about R900 about 10mnths ago.

Does yours also have that Lenovo Care button which accesses the partition on the hard drive which stores system files so you don't need a recovery disc as such?

Mine didn't come with any cds at all.
