How can Neotel drop prices if the don't even have prices yet? That's why they aren't an option. Duh!
Have to say I tend to agree with your assessment.
The reason why I'm trying to bring the point across is that they should have been here to drop those prices. All of Guavamint's and the DoC's, Infraco and the rests pitfalls have held Neotel and this country back.
How long has it been since the SNO was announced?
Why are we still sitting here rustling around hoping for our current ISP's to drop prices - they can't move their arses unless Telscum drops its wholesale offering to them.
Even with the recent price drops WA (as mentioned in another thread, will look for it) has not passed on any significant saving! If any at all...
Also we all know that Telscum Internet doesn't pass on any significant savings as they are the bloody internet in this place!
As can be seen in the article on the front page:
4 Mbps ADSL Shootout
They cost more than some of the ISP's!
So what is costing them 20c they're still reselling as R22.50 ( yes this price comparison is exaggerated and unfounded, but I'm just falling in line with Telscum Chinese Maths)
According to those choices - at the moment - its none of them - only Telscum holds that kind of power.
Fact (or what to my mind seems to be a fact) is that by all rights Neotel
should have been on that list as well. We've been f*cked around for so long and there's at least another few more years of that to come as LLU will only be completed by 2011. (if at all)
Yes there are some stones to be thrown at Ajay and Angus from Neotel as well - all the setbacks and deadlines missed throughout the year.
But how long had Icasa held out on the allocation for the spectrum needed by Neotel to start working? Kuk long!
I bought a tevo wireless remote contol car the other day... and noticed a little ICASA sticker approving the 27MHz used by the car.
I wonder how long that took?
If I'm venting and ranting - its only because of the state of telecomms in this country and not at you guys.
My starting this thread was not as a "Gripe" that the creator of the poll on the front page had missed something - rather it was to draw attention to the fact that we're still in the same place we've always been - sucking the fallis of Telscum - bitching but having to take it deep throat, cos that's all we know how to do.
The thread was meant to fire up some conversation about the matter - even if we've been running in circles with the Neotel debacle (spelling) I just wanted to let out and hopefully let some others as well...
sjoe...
