As long as you accept you're sacrificing all the details and colour differentiation/shading which results in what the basis of 'picture quality' is ....
The difference between Torch mode and a mode conducive to picture quality is very different to your story about CRT and Hz. I enjoyed it nonetheless....
I have experience with the ES7500, only with HD DSTV. The picture quality was not good at all, no matter what settings I used (both decoder and TV)....
