    Default Hide "Call forwarding active"

    How to hide "Call forwarding active" message...

    Well, some people get a "call forwarding active" message every time they do a call. I read a lot about this topic and there are also some threads about it in here.

    To sum up:

    * It's not a bug, it indicates that your calls are being forwarded either to your mailbox or an "caller unavailable" message by your provider.
    * Some people made the message disappear by forwarding all calls to another number, and then enabling again (not sure if mailbox still works).
    * Activating "call waiting" lets the message disappear (since incoming calls are not forwarded anymore).

    However, there is a simple way to hide this message:

    Get the file com.apple.carrier.plist found at /var/root/Library/Preferences/ and edit the key ShowCallForwarding to be <false/>. Reboot! There you go, your Mailbox works and you don't get that annoying message anymore :-)

    Update:

    There are two settings in com.apple.carrier.plist:

    ShowCallForwarding: Message shown on outgoing calls, if your number is beeing forwarded.
    ShowCallForwarded: Message shown on incoming calls, if caller has been forwarded to you.
    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11641

    I tried this and it works, wish I had done it earlier.

    EDIT:

    For 1.1.3...

    Disable 'call-forwarding' popup on 1.1.3

    Use SSH or iPhonebrowser and go to:
    /var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundle.bundle
    or
    /var/root/Library/Carrier Bundle.bundle

    Get carrier.plist (& make a duplicate) and set file-permissions to read/write (via 'get info' on mac)
    Use http://140.124.181.188/~khchung/cgi-bin/plutil.cgi to convert the plist.

    Then open with text-editor and find:

    <key>ShowCallForwarded</key>
    <true/>
    <key>ShowCallForwarding</key>
    <true/>

    Rename to:

    <key>ShowCallForwarded</key>
    <false/>
    <key>ShowCallForwarding</key>
    <false/>

    Now close, save and put it back on phone..

    -Reboot phone

    Just wanted to let you guys know you can now upgrade your iPhone to 1.1.3!!

    I just did this and it took me roughly 40 mins to an hour to do!

    Even updated the baseband! For those of you that dont know what that is - I can now use the google locate me feature in google maps without any problems (unlike other 1.1.3 upgrade methods)

    I used this method - http://modmyifone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30019

    Please, AFAIK this method will NOT WORK for 1.1.2 OTB or 1.1.3 OTB phones. Only use this if your phone came with 1.1.1 or LOWER. [ BL 3.9 or OTB 1.1.1 and below.]

    If you are at 1.1.2 already jailbroken + unlocked (which i assume most of you are) start from step 5. This is what i did.

    I encountered 0 problems along the way - if you come accross any problems (which i hope you dont), post them here and i'll try to help you to as much as my knowledge extends.

    Good luck guys!

    Just a side note - it is now possible to unlock 1.1.2 OTB AND 1.1.2 OTB iPhones using geohots method. I doubt any of you have one of these but if you dont already know about this and would like the link for how to do this, gimme a shout here.

    Yup, I also have the 1.1.3 firmware now. I encountered some problems upgrading to 1.1.2. Fixed them by restoring to 1.1.1 and starting again! All working nicely now!

    Thanks for these settings!

    Doesnt work after you upgrade your baseband on 1.1.3 to 4.03 though (yet)

    Would be great if we could receive as well one day..

    also still waiting... lol
    ver 1.1.1 (3A109a)
    but want to upgrade now

    also, the settings posted for MMS do not work for me - message:

    MMS cannot be sent right now since GPRS/EDGE is not available! Please review your MMS and/or EDGE APN settings, or wait a while if settings are correct...

    My settings are correct, Edge is working, but even after waiting a while it still won't send it, cannot connect to Proxy or something like that.

    I also would like to know if it's at all possible to use navigation on this phone

    Thanks

    Once you have updated to 1.1.3 (i assume suferwell has already helped you, if not gimme a shout if u need any more help), let me know so we cant get you sorted out for SSH. You hav to have a wireless access point in ur house though if u wanna use SSH.

    Alternatively, you can use the renaming trick on iTunes, but update first because any ringtones you put are just going to be wiped after you update anyways, so i might as well explain after you upgrade.

    Good luck with the upgrade.
