Thread: Increased traffic

Default Increased traffic

Hi guys

Over the last few days we are experiencing great amounts of traffic to our site and forum. This translated into some problems with the hosting servers. Please bear with us while we are attending to these problems. This site will never be offline for too long.

Regards,

It will if telkom decides to block it[}:)] and I wouldn't put it past them if the volume of valid complaints continues at this pace.

Keep up the good work RPM.

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris

Thanks for the posting and your continual support. It is guys like you that make this site work.

I am certain this site is not what the have in mind when it comes to publicity. For once they are not in control of the facts and figures, and look at the response. I am certain they would love to snub this site, but I own the name and it will simply pop up somewhere else.

Regards,

Well your site certainly does perform well. Would you like to share with us a few details about the infrastructure?

Some other ideas for the site:-

1) an area that focuses on helping newcomers and anyone else with problems, complete with FAQ

2) a suppliers corner - an area where any supplier of adsl related equipment or service is welcome to post a brief statement about his offering. Controlled adverstising can actually be quite useful.

I love the simplicy and speed of this site. You are doing a great job.

^^ Agree with pdos ^^

A newbie area containing the sites collected wisdom and experience would be a great addition!

I just did a speed test and this is the results:

Rating Compared to all connection types worldwide, yours is poor

I think this is rather interesting, ADSL is supposed to be faster than diginet and therefore the fastest that Telkom offers:

And the rating POOR

We can certainly see that the internet will NEVER grow in SA and that the Dept of Comm. SHOULD / MUST either get Telkom to get off there arse and do something about it OR open the playing field so that a private company can offer a better service at a cheaper price [:(]
