Neotel my not be that bad...

I think 10 Gig at the speed they offer is great for R599. What was everyone expecting exactly? Seems like the vast majority of people are still unhappy.

That's 10GB for the entire month, Gunther. They have access to SAT3.

Hardly any one is covered with CDMA reception in Joburg. And come on, no one even knows yet if that 10GB will be shaped or not? What happens when you get capped?

Things are still too early to 'fall in love' with :)

EDIT: Apparently its unshaped..

How about Internet access Only package?
Its bundled with the free minutes/sms for market capture, Neotel to neotel only.
Besides the cheaper packages internet speeds are not even braodband.

Yes. But I suppose they are trying to get telephone clients and not only internet clients. And R600 is a good price for everything you get (to the other poster).

But not too early to become infatuated with! lol

I think the uncapped is unshaped. Not to sure if the capped option is not.Otherwise can't wait for them to Come to PE...

Its unshaped they have always said so - I suggest you go read the press releases again.

I also feel that Neotel’s pricing structure is good news for the local broadband space. They effectively lift the broadband bar to 10 GB for R 599 (device included) and their lower end offerings should also be competitive.

Even if the offerings don’t suit you, it does bring pricing pressure into the market and may force other providers to respond. I just hope they expand their coverage quickly and provide great service as this will ensure pressure on providers like Telkom & iBurst…

How about they don't cap us at all????? CAP???? Flipping Cap!???!?!??!?!?!?#$!I$()*!&
I hate the word cap....wear a cap, bust a cap FFS get this cap mentality out of your darn minds!!! Neotel bought the capping idea from Telkom plain and simple. I don't see the cuzzies in India being capped, do you? I google "capped Internet Access" and what do I see??? .co.za sites all over the place and some ISP in America called WhiteCap who is actually uncapped @ 10 dollars

+1 :)

How much did you expect then ldmelsa? 50 Gig?
Capping is a sensless moronic practice. It implies that you are paying per GB, but they don't carry your "unused" throughput over, so it's all a lie.

Either make us pay per MB and be honest about it, or carry over the unused amounts.

What does happen if you use more than 10GB with Neotel? Suddenly you have 0 options to get connectivity going again. How freaking thick is that? What a lame freaking product.

LIKE:
Capping is like filling your car at the beginning of each month, and then being forced to fill it again next month, never mind how much you actually traveled. And, in Neotel's case, if you did actually drive to Cape Town, you'd not be able to drive back until next month. Lame!

I thought Neotel would not perpetuate the same crap that Teklom have created, and would instead sell packages that are logical.

Yea, I know I am completely and utterly insane.

Yes once the real uncapped prices start I will move since that. They are actually wasting my time. Im not going to that much! Its double the price of Australlia with 24mbs ADSL2+ ftw. So since we can match that im moving to Aus next year Feb. Ohh wait im moving anyways! Broadband in SA will never be good. Can beleive they say that we meet international standards. WTF its a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I climb in your bag and come with?
I will eat very little and take up as much space as a bed, and just need 2Mb's of that 24mb DSL :D

anyone know of a coverage map?

rpm, do you have some information as to which areas (especially in jhb) will get covered first?

"I love you Neotel" well all I can say to that is, someone has to. I suppose its better than no competition but at the moment what reason do I have to move from Telkom?

I make total use of two 30GB ISDSL Local accounts..

Does Neotel cater for my large local needs? I pay more because of the 4Mbit line, but a friend has the same setup and pays R499 for 384kbps DSL. 3GB International, 60GB Local

So no, there is no need for me to switch from TelkomADSL to Neotel
