Default How do I auto connect with Neotel

I purchased the NeoConnect Prime Service uncapped a couple of days ago. (It retails for R1000 a month). Their service is really excellent and I got my device the very same day I ordered. The speeds I obtain is reasonable, it averages around 150KBps and peaks at around 180KBps and seldom drops below 100KBps, even during peak hours. However, I have a serious problem. After a few hours, the connection goes down and I will have to manually connect again. This is very annoying as I am downloading most of the time. Is there anyway I can tell the device to auto connect? There is no such option in the software itself and I have searched the internet to no avail. Any suggestions?

Ok, I found the solution myself! The solution is NOT to use their Neo Connect Manager software to connect to the internet. Rather make use of Windows own network and sharing, which you can find under the control panel. Set it up like you would with a normal dial up connection. (The number to dial is #777). After you have set it up, make sure to right click the connection and under the "options" tab, tick "never drop idle connection" and "redial if line is dropped". My connection has been running 24/7 now!

Do you have to sign a contract?

Yes, as far as i'm aware. It's a 24 month contract, so would imagine you would have to

cool. thanks for the feedback regarding the speeds. interesting. I think 150kB/s is totally reasonable. Surfing at those speeds should be ample.
