well.. as your screen name implies... the HSDPA 7.2 is supposed to be faster... if you can get in the right spot to enjoy it.

But if you want stability consider bonding two ADSL lines together to get 8 Mbps or even three for 12 Mbps (if money is no object).

Wireless internet of any type is going to spike a lot.

Besides, I know you said money is no object... But seriously, using something like HSDPA to run a whole business would be like trying to run a farm tractor on high-proof Cognac.

Fun, dangerous and alcoholic?

But seriously, how fast do you need? Most businesses make do with leased lines or straight DSL with no real issues. We run all our traffic from here to all locations around the globe through leased and it's pretty speedy.

What speed do you want? For several hundred thousand rand a month you can get a 20 Mbps line.

I Need a connection that can handle the traffic for a 100 camera ip surveillance system. any idea's

20 mbps can work i think. do i link 5 adsl lines or do i have other options for this speed? another problem is availability of adsl sockets in the area, its very limited. camera system will be wireless

Yes, 20 Mbps would work (are all 100 camera channels live at the same time, or are they location switching?). Bundling/Binding ADSL channels would be cheaper... but don't ask me who to approach to do that for you. I have only heard of it theoretically. You would have to approach Telkom about socket availability at your closest exchange. Call Telkom business and ask them to send a rep out to see you to talk ADSL binding or leased line.

What are you wanting to do with the cameras and how far apart are they?

Could get interesting if you're getting signals from all around the country I suppose. You could always sacrifice framerate and spend less. Either that or get the nice Axis cameras that FTP images directly.

There are two ways of bonding several ADSL-lines.

1. Bonding by provider, but I don't think it is supported for cheap ADSL connections!
2. Bonding by router!
here a 6-channel router:

auto-translated:

This router can multiplex up to 6 connections, even though different types. (UMTS, ADSL, SDSL, ISDN...)

BUT: Do you have 5 different copper twin conductors until in your house/area?
