Hi,

We will be lanching our uncapped ADSL accounts on Friday. Since these proxy's are owned and operated by our company, we have the right to allow traffic to be relayed through them. It will also solve the Telkom one aco**** secerio, as you will only have one account (Uncapped), more information will be posted on Wednesday as to the pricing.

I would like to thank everyone who particpated in the beta testing. All aco****s signed up on Friday and Monday will recive 50% off in the first month. [:D] Including Beta Testers [:D]

Hi Yes,

I would recommend the Platinum Package for you, and you can cancel the ADSL accounts.

The Service is avalible throughout South Afirca.

I have heard that traffic is routed via SAT-3 which is great. Can anyone give some feedback on international pings / latency? I will sign up today if it can provide pings in the sub 350ms range to Europe and UK consistently.

Some IP's to test:

UK - clarity.jolt.co.uk
USA - york.boston.sierra.com

thanks in advance

Hi,

Dean
I would like to know if ports like 443, 6869 etc are also open on the uncapped ADSL service. I would like to use Bittorrent and other services NOT just web browsing.

Would I need to use the ODS proxy once I reach the 3 gig download limit? OR will all ports still be at full speed - before and after 3 gig limit with an ODS uncapped ADSL account.

Can you please confirm.

I was just wondering if anybody is using this service offered here http://www.ods.co.za/Services/UncappedADSL.asp.

Any comments about the service would be of great Value to me. I am considering to go for it, but I am curious to know if it is any good.

Thanks.

I tried out a test account (not sure what the contention ratio on it was), and got around 20kb/s off of GameSpot and IGN.

Getting my logins tomorrow. [8D]

I called ODS THREE times, determined to make use of their system. Each time they promised to call me back, and never did. I reckoned if their initial support is so pathetic, the proxy will be a nightmare. Eventually, after again not hearing anything from them after the third call, I bought a second ISP account from MWeb, for 6 gigs, for more or less the same amount the OSD's proxy would have cost me.
Dean, please take note, I was seriously disappointed by your lack of support and you lost one definite client.

How fast will this service be because i see this
Q How does the 3 Gig limit work with my uncapped ADSL account.
A. You can choose to use the normal account supplied with the uncapped ADSL for the first 3 gigs and then put in your uncapped account settings, this will give you an initial faster account / or this can be used for when you want to download large files quickly.
but isnt the ADSL Business User (Socks 5 Enabled) 70 K 1 - 15 for R 599 faster then normal adsl from u with the cap 50k capped vs 50k uncapped vs 70k uncapped. Any if anyone has this account please tell us what speeds u are getting. Thanks a Lot u Guys

The business user package will give you download speeds of 7kb/s if everyone else is downloading with the proxy, and when someone stops using their account you'll gain a bit of extra bandwidth (0.5kb/s or so). Of course, if you're the only one accessing international content it'll be very rapid.

Question for Dean! How long has ur uncapped service been running and how long where you in test phase. I am very interested butwould really like to know if it is something that is going to last. is it also possible to get some stats on the different account with 10/10 of 15/15 online at once.

Hi,

I am sure the current clients on our service can vouch for it, I will ask them to post their findings.

I also made 3 calls on the same day an never recieved a response. How can the service be any better if my call haven't been responded to. [:(][:(][:(]I'll try DeCap instead.
