IF I STOP BEATING IT THEN I WILL HAVE TO PUT ON A DRESS AND PICK DAISIES ALL DAY LONG, WHILE HUMMING THE THEME SONG OF LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE
Well, there is only a complicated way of changing the region of the console, and it's once only if I remember correctly.
You'll only be able to play region-free games bought in SA on your soon to be bought 360. If they load on your US Xbox, (SA 360 game), you'll know it's region free.

what exactly does this mean?Rename your local account to something unique and ad a ZA at the back of it.
Once the account is on live is will cost you 800 MS to change it... so be sure.
If the name you want is allready taken, cancel process, go back to dash and rename your local account. Rinse Repeat.

I currently own the Arcade console. (Console without the hard drive)
I wish to play games directly from a hard drive.
I want to purchase a hard drive. (only to play games from)
The 120G are currently not availible in SA. If I settle for a 20G hard drive-
How many games can I load onto this hard drive?
Am I just wasting my money? Should I wait for the 120G hard drive?![]()
Get a 60g if you can but you should be able to install about 2 games on the 20g
...I had 13g and then installed Fallout 3 and now 7g left.
Really?
Thanks man. BUT, you will never believe this, it's working again. I tried it the next day and it's fine. It's amazing.
This is the pic I took when it happened

I think the following really really should be in the FAQ!
What do I do if my 360 is in one room and my router in another room and I want to get on Live?
The obvious answer would be to run CAT5 cable from the router to the Xbox 360. But there is an alternative, wireless. Yes, Microsoft does sell their proprietary dongle for R1000 and it works as expected but you can have a much better and way cheaper DIY solution that is more versatile and is not restricted to only giving the 360 access to the net.
Basically, the idea is this: if you have an old wireless router laying around the house you can load a 3rd party firmware called DD-WRT on it and turn the router into a wireless bridge. (Check here if your router supports DD-WRT. If it doesn't, just sprawl the classifieds or post in the WUG section of this forum, someone is bound to have a 2nd hand one they're willing to let go of. Actually, I know for a fact that there are WUG users that wanna let go of some of their old equipment.
The idea behind Client Bridge mode is that essentially, the client router obtains a connection from the main router (wirelessly) and then shares that connection through the ethernet ports. There are good guides across the net on how to do this, I personally started off with this one.
Also, streaming media from your PC to the 360 over the bridge works perfectly. My bridging router is a Linksys WRT54GL and supports 54Mbps max but that's enough to stream 720p content without problems. For 1080p I think a router that supports 108Mbps would be a better bet.
For the most part, setting this up wasn't too difficult, it's well worth the effort and when you have it up and running, it'll be very satisfying.![]()
If 3rd party firmware doesn't do it for you, you could just buy and actual client bridge, like this one

They're cheaper than the official 360 kit and also support multiple devices. This particular model supports wireless N which is a bonus.
