My ADSL is down in Rondebosch, Cape Town. Does anyone know anything that could shed light on the subject?
I first noticed it last night, it was still out this morning, before work.
My router was working perfectly, on Sunday.
No settings or account stuff has changed - I tried two different ISP accounts.
I checked my cap.
The router appears to be working - the Wireless Access Point is up and the web config runs.
The "bind" light on the router is dead - not even flashing.
There is a dial tone on the line - I can make voice calls, there is no audible noise.
My ISP is Web Africa and it's a Netgear router - I can't recall the exact model number. (Some 10x range, 10x speed things written on box, AFAIK.)
I have sent my router "down-stairs" to our techies to have it tested. I haven't heard from them, yet. I'm guessing this is an outage on Telkom's side because the router has given no issues so far - it's only a couple of months old.
