    Default Doom 3 is Out

Technically, there's 2 days 19hrs to the official US release of Doom 3 - but some US stores with stocks have started selling it-
    (see http://www.doomworld.com )

I'm going to buy it when it releases here on Aug 12/13 - along with Europe - but in the meantime... I figure saturday morning US time, it wont take long for the mobs to descend on Best Buy and other stores that've decided to ignore the 'release date' - hopefully as early as tonight our time, some iso-freak's will have upped it online before settling into playing it..

From what I've seen/heard the game allows pretty decent throttle back to let you play the game even on reasonable midrange pcs. Of course for all the bell and whistles you'll have to spend some ggg's.

Is the 13th still the earliest date for Doom 3?

I don't want to order it from Take 2 if I can simply pick it up at Incredible or whatever.

by far the scariest game i have played in ages.

I had problems with it crashing after about 10 minutes into the game, have an ATi 9600XT, but loaded the Cat 4.8Beta drivers and all is working well.

    :)

    Yup its an exelent game.
I'm running it on a R 9800 pro in 1024x768 with everything on execpt v-sync and AA.

I wonder how long it is cause I've been playing it for a while now about 2 days.

    Cheers

Seems to get scarier as night comes. Very Very resource hungry. If u like me and have a bit of a dated card u gonna battle. As I said earlier in the thread i have a Asus Geforce 4 440 Titanium running on a 2.2ghz AMD. Had to run it on lowest settings to make it smooth. I could have made it higher but the ocational jerks when about 4 guys rush u is terrible. Can't wait for HL2, it is gonna kill doom! Maybe PCI express will offer some really decent cards to play with.
