Dual Sim Phones

Hi

Does anyone know if it's possible to have a phone with a dual sim card?
I read that there are some hacks available.

I have two sim cards and I swap them when I want to use it.

Please advise.
 
I desperately wanted one a while back but couldn't find any real dual-sim phones from the major manufacturers, so turned to Bidorbuy and got myself some Chinese thing. It worked with both sim cards at the same time and was perfect......if it wasn't for the fact that it didn't work.

It couldn't make calls at all - nobody could hear me on the other end and the seller refused to refund me or attempt to have it repaired. Not unexpected I suppose. So don't fall for those cons as in my experience, you really do get what you pay for in these situations...
 
Yeah those fong kong dual sim phones are all over bidorbuy, they do look dodgy. Any1 else bought these units? If they work then it's not bad for the price.
 
There is one manufacturer that made one once. Networks don't want them for obvious reasons and will use their current stranglehold on phone manufacturers to stop it.
 
that is a good question!!! How many people actually used those things and is it worth buying them?

Or is there any other solution to dual sim cards. It could be understandable that it must be both the same network the sim cards cos it will be a mess if it is two different networks

Yeh, some of those chinese phones work great, and others are real bad quality. You just need to be sure to buy from a seller on Bidorbuy with a money back guarantee if you have any problems.

I am currently using an Imate KJAM and I have a "dual sim holder".
I cut my sim cards into smaller sizes, and then placed them into the deal holder. I then put the dual holder into my phone and I can now switch between the 2 sim cards from my phones menu.... much easier than taking out the battery and swopping the sims every time. One drawback though is that both simcards can't work simultaneously..
 
no man... firstly, lets say for example i have mtn and vodacom. whenever i have vodacom active, then if someone calls me on my mtn number, it wont ring... and vice versa...
also, on those chinese phones where both sim cards are active at the same time, i have 2 call buttons, so i can instantly call from either sim card without having to first swop sim cards in the menu, and then make my call...
 
OK. I got confused with labratza's post where it was stated that both sim's must be from the same network.
