I'm currently on a low carb diet (in week 8)... pretty ****ty... energy is kaput at gym.

I've lost 7.1kg since starting so it puts the weight-loss average at just over 1kg a week. I have also lost a bit of strength, but I think its because of the low carbs/energy.

Six weeks and I'm done with this weight loss crap.

Your body goes into a state of ketosis, if I recall correctly, it takes 2-4 days to get into that state - by eating more than 30-40g of carbs, you run the risk of knocking yourself out of ketosis - and therefore need to restart again.

I have one cheat meal a week - where I eat what ever the hell I want and its usually a lot... I end up lying on the couch feeling sick, and sorry for myself for three hours

I had 4 slices of pizza and chips on the weekend

If you don't cheat you will fail

If I want to go to the gym 3 times a week, should I go 3 days in succession (like Mon, Tues, Wed) or should I go Mon, Wed, Fri?

OK thanks. Just started at Planet Fitness yesterday and I'm not as sore as I expected (maybe because I was there for 30 mins) since I've been doing some exercises for a few weeks now.

I rarely get stiff, need to push harder. I find it difficult to motivate myself to push, sucks not having a partner.

I get stiff almost every week.... and after I take my easy week - I can hardly walk the next week... although, since stuffing up my knee - its been easier

Yeah I agree. A partner helps on certain exercises, like the Bench press. While you can, and then do the roll of shame...that's not my favorite way of pushing myself :P

On Squats and Deadlifts and Pendlay Rows I feel perfectly comfortable by myself pushing, mostly because I know I pretty much can push over my limit without hurting myself, except maybe on the rows if I go out of bounds with ligaments in my wrists.

And it also becomes like a sort of competition (don't lie you know most men are like that) and that helps you want to push harder. all round i feel it helps, having motivation, a spotter etc

I have also found this to be true, if I take a weekend off or 1 or 2 days and then hit it hard, the next day I have to take off again as I'm flippin sore like today, yesterday was Chest, I can feel myself getting sore by the hour.

A partner is nice for the competition and to help to failure, miss that, I always push to the max with someone watching.
