Do u guys know wheather this will have any effect on the fuel consumption?

How much would it cost to modify Gti to have R32 type pipes?

No direct affect on fuel consumption but you are gonna use more fuel coz you will give the car stick just to hear the new glorious tone.
Contact Wildcat and speak to Tristan, he can do a package for you. You will need the R32 rear bumper and exhaust cut out and Tristan will make the exhaust for you.

GTI07 I am assuming u drive a Gti....have u also modified yours to have R32 pipes...Whats the sound like? Is it close to the sound that R32 makes?

Seen an add in the Vee dub magazine last year sometime.
Was offfered for R 5000 including new rear bumper. (From Stingray Exhausts.. I think)

Nope, no where close to the same sound, its cosmetic mostly.

Yes i do drive a GTI, i have not done this mod to mine, i have a different TBE on my car. As JK8 said, it is cosmetic BUT the exhaust tone is VERY different to standard because of the 2 back boxes that Wildcat use. My uncle has this setup but he has a decat 76mm DP as well and IMO, it is one of the hottest sounding GTI's around. He did his at Stingray and was just over R6000.

It is no where near the sound a R32 makes, remember, R32 is a 6 pot motor.

So would you recommend the guys at Wildcat over Sportech....I called sportech yesterday they do the whole thing for R8200.

Ask Chad where he sends his cars to get the exhaust done ;)

Try driving it without an exhaust, you won't gain much but at least it will then sound pretty much the same as it looks and what most people think of its driver.... ****.

What car u driving at the moment Rouxenator?

**EDIT** - Sounds like you where intentionally run over by a VW when you where young, hence the hatred towards the brand.

+1

All I can gather from the OP is that he has realised how unexciting and common the GTi is and wants to make it look/sound like it cost him R100k more (ala >R400k R32)

Question for Chad....where do u send ur cars??

I always thought that Sportec was the best in terms of car modification or am I wrong.
