Photo inset software

Suppose you have a family photo and want to insert a 'missing' person as an inset..... is there any good (free) software to accomplish that?
I have tried Picasa and gave Gimp a try too but no luck :mad:

If you did not manage to do that in Gimp ... :confused: , M$ Paint is your only other option imo.

Well what-ya know... it worked! :rolleyes: Never thought of trying it and so simple... on the pic you just click 'Paste From' and choose the 'inset' pic. Then you can move it around and resize it.
