Hi there,

First of all I would like to say this is a great forum and just browsing through it solved a lot of problems when I had the old Telkom POTS Router. I got mine exchanged for the new Marconi 4 Port One and I would like to set it up through my Gigabyte B49G Wireless Router. From what I know the setup on the new 4 port router is much more complicated than the one on the old routers. My router has newer firmware. The setup will be as follows. The router will be connected to the wireless router and from there one computer will be connected through a cable and the other 4 wirelessly. Could you please give me step by step setup as how to do this especially with the settings on the Marconi router.

I would also like to know which is a good ISP. I am currently using tiscali but they are constantly giving me trouble and the extra bit I pay for them is just not worth it anymore.

Thanks for any help in advance!

link up the marconi with the wireless AP using a utp cable. Then you can just access the marconi using its default IP.

As far as the settings go, its pretty standard for all in SA. I propose you go for a routed connection. It makes the router "dial" and autenticate your connection, and you just point all your dnss and gateways to the marconi's IP.

Encapsulation PPPoE
Multiplex LLC
VPI 8
VCI 35
Service name [i leave it blank]
then your uname and password.

Hope I understood your question correctly and hope it helps.

Setup

Just a quick one, so this Marconi router will then infact act as a modem (NTU) and all routing atc will be done on the B49G?

The reason why I ask, is that I have this set-up, and dyndns going, but still can not get to my PC from work/internet.
