    True,

I guess it might be good for some addictions and not for others. But i can just assume that being Married to an addict and your not one yourself would put massive amounts of stress and problems on the non addict.

Congrats on the 7 years, keep it up. I've been fortunate enough to not have been addicted to anything, and I've tried everything except cigs and H.

Big of you to take responsibility for your past actions and try to make reparations.
I once dated a girl who lisped, she wanted to watch Faith Like Potatoes. 20 minutes in it dawned that we weren't watching a movie about the Elephant Man...

I've been on Morphine twice in my life (In Hospital) and I crave that sometimes. That stuff is the SHYT !

the only thing that'll save the marriage is the support of the spouse and the addict coming clean...Otherwise the spouse should bail..

My exgirlfriend was bipolar, crystal meth addict, borderline personality disorder, sociopathic tendancies and a compulisve liar to boot. With many of the traits, you get random, meanlingless sex with anyone so you're constantly worried - which for me was the one of the largest issues. Sleeping around and sex is a non-issue for them.

And, oddly, she was very pretty ... really intelligent, smart, witty, life of the party etc If you don't know about those, you'd actually say 'wow - what a catch!. She could adapt and change her personaity to whatever suited the situation (a clubber, a rocker, a relaxed drinker, a hardcore drug addict etc)

In and out of drug rehabs since age 14, had a child at 17, expelled from just about every school, juvi record.

In our 3 years together we had 1 decent year. It was really decent though :/
    Jägermeiʃter can fix that!

It's very sad actually and I can empathise with her...Most bipolar people are intellegent but the irrationality and the overwhelming ure to be someone/somewhere else and escape from yourself makes it very easy to turn to drugs ...Which only compound the disorder and cause even further problems...Must have been hard on you...

It makes for better reading than the "don't get a credit card because it will suck in your soul and trap it forever" type threads.

Do you think someone who used heroin (lets' say even just a few times) can stop and now live a 'normal' life with kids, etc? Or are there always issues.
