    2 choices for u:

    (1) Format and reinstall windows and 1 Antivirus app (the choice is yours)
    (2) Consider installing Linux

    (3) Don't bother with anti-virus programs, just get a decent hardware firewall (router) and stop using iexplore and msie - then exercise caution online.

Millions would disagree with me, but I haven't had a virus on ANY of my windows boxes for years.

But then, I'm the kinda person that checks my system processes, msconfig files and is incredibly cautious in what programs I open.

BTW, dablakmark8, english isn't your first language right ?

Hmm, I'd say that if you can't figure out what you should download to get Linux installed via a bit of searching on Google, you should rather steer clear of it or get a buddy to help you.

    But here's a link anyway :-

    ftp.is.co.za/mirror/ftp.suse.com/9.1-personal-iso/SUSE-9.1-personal-x86.iso

That's an iso file which you can burn using Nero - burn image.
It's a Linux distribution called SuSe.

The reason I posted that particular one is because it's a single iso file download and is really easy to install.

Bear in mind, no windows programs work "natively" within Linux, so you won't be able to play windows games.

Well, many people don't have time to try to decipher what you are trying to write. It's also pretty difficult to get a job without a decent command of the English language, but that's just my opinion.

Great suggestion matt, but maybe he should consider getting an installable live CD to play with first.

Hey - cool it man, didn't mean any offense by it, I just enjoy being able to read things easily !

Your posts are very difficult to read, that was my main point. I figured that perhaps your first language is not English, which would explain things !

    Peace.

If you type into Google "Antivirus Comparisons" you can read them all.
I myself have settled for Pc-cillin (by Micro Trend) which costs $49.95 p.a. but includes All THE FEATURES which the less expensive programs do not. AVG is free but provides basic protection. Am happy with PC-cillin as it updates constantly but I suggest you run a 30 day trial period and test it for yourself.
PC-Cillin scans e-mail for virus worms. Trojan horses, includes firewall, antispyware and antispam, anti-Phishing, Wi-Fi alerts and free telephone support. It is not recommended to have more than one AntiVirus program running at the same time.

    Good luck,
    Sorella
