I like my task bar on the left hand of my desktop space. Does this work in Gnome? Last Ubuntu I tried (6) it did not work as expected.

is Mandriva easy to configure as a dual boot OS? i want to put it on our home laptop, but my wife prefers windows, so i want it to default to windows when laptop is booted up. it should only start mandrive if i choose so (from a boot menu)

Right click panel properties and choosing left as your orientation doesn't work?

This one is a keeper. I've tested both Ubuntu 9.10 and Mandriva 2010.0. Both are great distro's, however, 2010 just feels right for me.

    Some (possibly biased) observations:

    1. I had to unplug my memory stick to get Ubuntu installed; not an issue with Mandy.
    2. Ubuntu started without sound, after first boot is was working again.
    3. Afrikaans support in Ubuntu is better.
    4. Ubuntu's grub (OS selection) looks old and pale in comparison to Mandy's boot splash.
    5. Ubuntu looks simple and uncomplicated, however, I prefer the control KDE provides.

    Enjoy whatever you choose!

Why pay R425 for 10Mbps when you can pay R342 for 20Mbps and R428 for 40Mbps adsl
