I had only 7mb of data left, so i bought a 2 gig data bundle 10 min ago.
The problem is that the date that this bundle expires shows up like this;

Available Data Bundle 2,055.00 MB
Data Bundle Expiry Date Friday, 1 January 2010

Should be 1 Feb 2010????????

Edit; Problem fixed = Feb 1

Unused MB allocation will be carried over upto the last calendar day of the next month following the month in which the MB was allocated.

So, it should be 31st Jan 2010. PM me and VodacomData your number that the bundle was activated on.

Kind Regards:

Billing Run is still ongoing. This might have caused the delay. Billing Run normally slows our systems down or brings it to a halt.

I had exactly the same this morning. I always purchase at the beginning of a month (i.e. 3 Dec), which puts the bundle expiry date 2 months on (i.e. 1 Feb). This morning the expiry date was shown as 1 Jan 2010, which was the data for my remaining 17mb bundle. Had a look just now and it's correctly set to 1 Feb 2010

Bundle expired in less than a month

Early December I bought my 2-monthly bundle, I also noticed that it would expire today and not end of January as it should. Googling it, I found this conversation and thought surely Vodacom will correct the issue automatically, like some reported, and left on holiday.

Well, not. This morning my bundle, with more than a Gig left, is expired. Calling 111 on a public holiday is of course not a walk in the park - after holding 'for the next available consultant' for more than 30 minutes, I get disconnected. But that is besides the point.

I was wondering if it would be possible for Vodacom to repair bundle expiry for all the customers of this product, as well as fixing the bug in the backend. This issue has been raised 4 weeks ago after all. I'm sure it cant be that difficult.

Regards,
Gerrit

I bought a bundle and it expired 8 hours later... Had a heated exchange with a help desk agent who insisted it takes 24 hours to fix. Speaking to the team leader and telling her I'm recording the call brought about a remarkable change in attitude, and my bundle was restored within 45 minutes.

Moral of the story, get voice recording software!

I Just purchased a bundel...and the expire date is also set to 1 Feb 2010, which is not correct...will email customer care and see what happens. When will this be fixed in the backend?

I also bought a 1Gb bundle on the 15th. Expiry is also set for 1 Feb 2010. I e-mailed customer care, and they tried to phone, but since the SIM is always in the modem, they sent the following SMS:

dear customer we tried to call you back but there was no alternate number, bundle rules are on activation the bundle will expire at the end of the next month please call 082155 for further assistance Kind regards, Vodacom Customer Care

So, does that then mean the expiry date is 2010-02-28? Should it not be 60 days later? Also, Vodacom4Me still gives the expiry date as 2010-02-01

Read the T&C: It's up to 60 days. So if you buy a bundle on the 1st of Jan it will expire on the 28th of Feb. If you buy a bundle on the 29th of Jan it will expire on 28th of Feb.

VodacomData will have to comment on the date being incorrect in v4me.

Nog dit ook nog. At the moment Vodacom is my main connection at home (no Telkom ADSL, no wifi) up till now they have been ok, except of course being expensive as sin.

So if I understand correctly, my bundle must expire on the 28th of Feb, and the best time to buy a bundle is at the beginning of the month, to get the "up to 60 days"?

Yep, that is correct, I don't like it, but that is how MTN and then Vodacom released "data rollover" into the wild.

There have been lengthy discussions about this in this particular forum, unfortunately it looks like Vodacom will not change Vodacom's "up to 60 days" before MTN changes MTN's "up to 60 days".

its crap
i bought a bundle on the 2nd jan and it says it will expire 01 feb?
hope they sort this out soon!!

I could be incorrect, but I think the reason might be related to the previous data bundle, and that when the previous data bundle is depleted, the displayed expiry date should change to the expiry date of your recently purchased data bundle.

@VCD, please confirm whether that is the case or not on v4me. If so, it would suggest that Vodacom has perhaps fixed a rather unfair design flaw that we have all been complaining about for quite a while.

Ok well there goes that possibility then, just when I over optimistically suspected that Vodacom might have fixed the order in which PPDBs get depleted :(.

I contacted Vodacom again, asking why the expiry date is not 28th of Feb 2010, and the reply SMS I got states:

Dear customer, Please be advised that your data billing query was received and you will be contacted with resolution to your query within about 14 working days once the investigation has been completed. Should you require further assistance please contact us on 082155. Kind regards, Vodacom Customer Care (Mohammed Rafique Limbada)

Well, I hope it will be before Feb 1 2010...:wtf:
