Thread: storm 2 settings?

  1. #1

    Default storm 2 settings?

i finally got my hands on a Storm 2, and ive literally had it for one day but when i try connect to the net with it, it says "the protocol specified is not supported by the handset. please try a different url" ?? when i try use apps that connect to the net it says connection error (error code -7) when i tried to download the standard settings from vodacom (*111#) it says that "vodacom has detected that i have an UNKNOWN UNKNOWN"

Has anybody had this problem? or does anybody have any suggestions on how to sort it out??

    Thanks

It sounds like you need the servicebooks installed again. Phone Vodacom and ask them to send you the servicebooks again.

Yes you can just phone them. They might / will ask for your blackberries PIN. You will receive some emails after which you have to give the phone a hard reboot (take battery out while it is on and stick it back in after a few minutes)

u say that i will get emails from vodacom, i just tried to set up my email but when i use the email setup wizard, it doesnt give me the option to create a normal email address ie: gmail. the only option it gives me is to create a Blackberry Enterprise Server? so now i wont be able to get emails to fix the problems? which now includes this problem with the email?? is there any other way to set up email without using the wizard?

Go to website http://mobileemail.vodafonesa.co.za/ and create a new account. It will ask for your IMEI and PIN. You can then add existing email addresses.

I think this might also solve your issue as asfter doing this your device will be registered on the Blackberry network.

Is your BIS enabled on your vodacom account?

Yes. I'm on prepaid and loaded some BB vouchers. My email & internet works fine.
