    Default Line/Internet Problems

Since july been noticing random disconnects of my internet through telkom yet my dsl still stayed synced.

It did same on both my routers and notice in games and pings once in a while my latency jumps high then goes back to normal does same on other accounts sometimes just not as bad on my unshaped from axxess.

When i tracert using my telkom account to lets say www.google.com i noticed that dns for 3rd and 4th hop timed out yet before july this year always got response from them.

Also sometimes to get my internet to connect again i have to actively call someone while its actively syncing or get a port reset (this only works 50% of the time)

My Line stats are perfect and i live 700 metres from the UMC box and 2km from exchange.

    On 4 Meg Line
    DS Atten: 8 db
    US Atten: 4 db
    DS Margin: 28 db
    US Margin: 22.5 db

Since i'm at work thats numbers i remember from router page and line interrogation from telkom.

Anyone got a solution to my problem, cause it sometimes is way worse like today had no internet this morning yet it worked last night and have to do the tricks i mentioned to get it working again?

How about a system that would allow you to reset your own ADSL port ? Say from a Cell phone with WAP. It might be a routing Issue. Thats why some of your hops Time out.

Interesting -- routing for Telkom and Axxess are the same -- just a different IP ( SAIX ) block.

Got IP's missing in my tracert in the same place -- more interesting.

Wonder WHAT machines those are , and WHO they belong to.

Can they not tell you what three & four are meant to be ?

Should be standard routing on all devices that access with a SAIX IP

thanks that helps now i know not sure why account goes to western cape lol instead of jhb
    when i'm in natal

seems my hop 6 dns uses parow western cape one

Well is there a reason why one of my dns uses parow capetown instead of JHB or pretoria? My primary dns in router is western cape, Parow

when i used http://www.whatismyip.com/ gave me correct IP info

This is your ISP assigned IP gateway to the Internet / subnet
NO need to block out the IP's
