A couple days ago my bro-inlaws internet connection was "capped" by AYCE. He calls me to ask me how much I have been downloading ...

I say nothing out of the ordinary... Only my weekly stuff. So straight away when I got to him, I log onto the the control panel from AYCE:
Monthly Usage:
DATE Upload Download
2005-05 2.00 GB 11.10 GB 13.11 GB

When he calls them, all they say is that the control panel is not accurate. Fair enough if its off by a couple 100mbs but by 17 gigs! utter crap!
What is the point of a Monthly Usage when it doesn't show give you your monthly usuage. I think their monthly usage is reporting incorrectly....

Ok bit off topic, just wondering is that "monthly usuage" a direct typo on their system? lol
 
well i use them and im on 24 gig for the month not capped so either your lying or something has gone wrong because its great for me and stoke

Wow thats quite a random accusation. Why on earth would he be lying?

I think the point of his post was to point out that something has gone wrong, and to see if anyone had experienced similar problems.

What a strange way to respond.

freeek, please PM or call me to see what the problem is with the usage on your Control Panel. You should not be throttled if you are <30GB for the month. If you have use more than 30GB and you need a top up, we have have such a service. Either way, please get hold of me.
 
kind of on topic, was just checking out allyoucaneat.co.za and noticed that they made some changes, including the 6month contract is back..

"This is the Signup Process for the All You Can Eat 6 month package for 30GB per month at R580 per month paid by debit order from a cheques or transmission bank account, monthly in advance."

just to let some users know
 
yup its a good deal 30 gig for 580 is cheapest around ad six months aint that long

more dp when i can get hold of it .

freeek, don't you want to drop me an email ([email protected]) or call me at the office (021 465 7979), so we can help you with this problem. There might be another reason why your ADSL service is slow and your account might not even be capped.

Alternatively, why don't you post your Daily Usage for the month (like https://dotco.net/allyoucaneat/images/cpanelc2.gif) and Accounting for the month (like https://dotco.net/allyoucaneat/images/cpanelc4.gif) here so that other forumites can help you explain where your gigabytes have gone. This way you could stay anonymous, if you like.

If you suspect that someone else is using your ADSL account, and hence the unexpected high usage, you should change your password in the Control Panel and keep your password private.
 
sheesh - afaik real dp has not been available for a number of years...pencils or slugs?
